HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?

RE Botanicals Company FAQ

Our industry-leading USDA certified-organic hemp extracts are derived from organic hemp flowers, which contain high amounts of naturally occurring phytocannabinoids. We believe in giving back to the planet that gives to us, so 1% of our sales are donated to farmers and non-profits who are improving the health of the soil through regenerative farming practices. None of our competitors can say the same.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which regulates ingredients, food, drugs and dietary supplements, and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), which oversees the American farming industry and certifies farms and product as organic, are two separate entities and are not governed by each other. The USDA oversees the National Organic Program (NOP) and it is the NOP that regulates the use of the term “organic”.

RE Botanicals’ products are USDA certified organic. We have partnered with Pro-Cert, a USDA-accredited certifying agent, to certify that our ingredients and all aspects of the entire production process, from crop to packaging, meet the requirements of USDA’s NOP.

This means we even use organic cane sugar for our alcohol extraction. Non-organic alcohol extraction is typically done with conventional corn or sugar, which are not only produced with pesticides, these are also GMO crops.

Our founder John Roulac is a 20-year organic hemp pioneer who also founded Nutiva, producer of organic plant-based superfood products. In starting RE Botanicals, John understood how important organic is in producing hemp-derived products. Hemp is a bioaccumulator. This means that it acts like a sponge absorbing pesticides, chemicals and toxins from the soil faster than it uses or releases them. When extractions are made from this hemp, those same toxins or pesticides are extracted, too. For these reasons and more, John searched far and wide to work only with certified-organic hemp farmers. Most other brands, even some who say they are organic, source from non-organic hemp farmers and therefore cannot obtain the coveted USDA organic seal. It’s important to look for the USDA certified seal when choosing an organic hemp-derived product. RE Botanicals’ pursuit of organic from seed to final product is just one reason why many of the leading US retailers are now partnering with RE Botanicals as their first certified-organic hemp CBD offering.

Our products are USDA certified-organic and grown in the USA, to ensure we deliver high-quality hemp CBD. A third-party lab analysis for each of our products is available here. Simply check the batch number on your product’s label to view the lab results.

Our products contain USDA certified-organic, full spectrum hemp extracts. Full spectrum means that the entire flower is utilized in our extraction process without manipulation of the active ingredients. There is some variability with all plants so it’s not uncommon for different batches or products to have slightly different lab results. There is also some variation that can occur with lab analysis as labs take a sample size of each batch of our products and with any organic material, a sample size can vary from the total batch. Because we’re using Hemp to produce our products the THC levels in our products will always be less than the legal limit of 0.3%.

We currently source U.S.-grown, USDA certified-organic hemp from farmers who are implementing regenerative practices such as planting alfalfa as a cover crop. We are also currently working with various non-profit organizations to help educate farmers about regenerative agriculture practices.

RE Botanicals Product FAQ

All of our USDA certified-organic full-spectrum tinctures have a serving size of 1mL (one dropper-full). Our capsules have a serving size of one capsule. The amount of CBD per serving varies with each product. For example, Hemp 15 has 15mg per serving while Hemp 25 has 25mg per serving.

All of our products should be stored in a cool dry place and kept out of direct sunlight. Products do not need to be kept in refrigeration and doing so may cause a thickening of the oil.

The first step in choosing which product is right for you is deciding whether you want to take our products orally or topically. If you prefer oral ingestion of supplements for systemic impact, we offer tinctures and capsules. If you are looking for a topical application that will be more localized to where you apply, we offer Relief Body Oil.

If you are choosing oral ingestion, our capsules are an easy and convenient solution, and are all 15MG CBD per serving. Our tinctures come in Classic, a pure and light hemp flavor, or Peppermint. The Peppermint is from organic essential oils. Classic is available in 15mg, 25mg and 50mg of CBD per serving. Peppermint is available in 15mg and 25mg of CBD per serving.

Regardless of which product you choose, results will vary by individual. We recommend you start slowly and adjust your amount after a few weeks, once you have a better sense for how our products are impacting you.

We use a gentle USDA certified-organic alcohol extraction method to create our full-spectrum hemp extracts. Alcohol extraction is the method used by the traditional hemp apothecaries. We take a modern spin on that tradition by using USDA certified-organic cane.

Our products do not contain any additives, artificial colors, or dyes that standardize the color of our products. Therefore, minor variances in color and hue can occur from batch to batch.  Our testing process is designed to identify variances in each batch- not only for color, but for taste and quality as well.  If you have questions or concerns, please contact our Support team

CBD Related FAQ

CBD (short for cannabidiol) is the most prominent phytocannabinoid found in the hemp plant. It is recognized for its multiple benefits for humans and animal companions alike. CBD is non-psychoactive, non-toxic, and taps into the receptors in the human endocannabinoid system- a vast network of receptors that help maintain the body’s overall wellness and support many physical processes.

Industrial hemp has been removed from the Controlled Substances Act with passage of the 2018 Farm Bill. Therefore, it is legal for cultivation, processing, and sale across the United States. Individual State laws may vary.

Hemp is a cannabis plant but has a key difference from other cannabis plants: THC (the compound that causes a euphoric “high”). Our products are sourced from organic hemp, which has high amounts of naturally occurring CBD and low amounts of THC (below 0.3%). Other cannabis plants contains high amounts of THC and low amounts of CBD, which is not preferable for CBD production. While both types of cannabis can be used to produce CBD, only hemp-derived CBD was deemed federally legal by the 2018 Farm Bill.

Full spectrum hemp extracts are made when you extract the hemp plant and do not remove any plant material in the process. That means that full spectrum extracts include the naturally occurring compounds found in the hemp plant. These compounds may include cannabinoids, terpenes, fatty acids, flavonoids, vitamins and minerals. Full spectrum hemp products typically do include very small amounts of THC (<0.3% as required by law) as it is naturally found in the hemp plant.

You may have heard about the Hemp Entourage effect which is the belief that hemp products are most effective when they are made from full spectrum extraction methods as the chemicals in the hemp plant work together synergistically.

Broad spectrum hemp extracts are typically made using a full spectrum extraction process but the THC is removed. This may be a good option if you’re getting drug tested.

CBD Isolates are created by isolating out just the CBD from the hemp plant. Again, a potential good option for someone being drug tested.

While these definitions are generally true, always check the specific definitions being offered by a company to confirm as it can vary from brand to brand.

The Hemp Entourage Effect is a term used to describe the synergy that exists when the different components of the hemp plant – including CBD, THC, terpenes and more – work together. To achieve the Hemp Entourage Effect, a product must be full spectrum meaning that plant compounds have not been removed or added during manufacturing. All of our products are full spectrum.

Terpenes are aromatic combinations of carbon and hydrogen in hemp, giving hemp plants their distinct scents. They are found in the trichomes of the hemp plant (the shiny and sticky crystals that cover the leaves and buds of the plant). Terpenes, which are part of a full-spectrum CBD, contribute to the entourage effect.

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a grouping of millions of receptors primarily located in the brain and central nervous system. Researchers have identified two predominant cannabinoid receptors: CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors can be found in the nervous system, connective tissues, glands, organs, and more. CB2 receptors can be found in the immune system and the immune system’s associated structures. The ECS has been found to play a role in bringing balance to the body.

CBD interacts with your body’s endocannabinoid system and can help by inhibiting the enzyme that breaks down your body’s endocannabinoids. This gives you a boost by increasing the number of endocannabinoids in your system.

No, there is a big difference between the two! Hemp seed oil is from the pressed seeds of the hemp plant. While nutritious, hemp seed oil does not contain any great number of cannabinoids. Hemp CBD oil is made from an extract of the hemp plant that is then blended with a carrier oil. We extract our CBD from the flower of the hemp plant and use USDA certified organic MCT oil from virgin coconuts as our carrier oil.

The hemp that we source is full-spectrum and grown in accordance with the 2018 Farm Bill. Therefore, our products will always be below 0.3% THC. Consuming even small quantities of THC regularly via a CBD product could lead to a failed drug test.

Since we are not medical professionals, we recommend that you consult with your physician or pharmacist prior to using any cannabinoids.
