These are exciting times for the hemp CBD industry. In 1999 I founded the company Nutiva which I named after the nut of cannabis sativa. I believed in the power of the hemp plant and my goal was to build a thriving US market for hemp products.
In 2018, I founded RE Botanicals with the mission to reshape the burgeoning hemp CBD industry around organic and regenerative agriculture practices. We believe that health begins in the soil. And healthy soil means healthy plants, healthy people, a healthy climate, and a healthy ocean. That’s why our products are crafted from USDA certified organic, full-spectrum hemp extract and we donate 1% of our sales to educate farmers about regenerative agriculture.
Today I’m incredibly proud to announce we are making huge strides to achieving our mission. We have merged RE Botanicals with Palmetto Harmony, an organic hemp company based in Conway, South Carolina. We have a shared set of values with Palmetto Harmony that includes an unbending commitment to making clean, safe, USDA certified organic products and providing full transparency to our customers.
Palmetto Harmony was founded by Janel Ralph in 2015. She is a true pioneer in the hemp world. Our union was born from a chance encounter at the Victory for Hemp party celebrating the passage of the Farm Bill that legalized hemp. We immediately realized our shared passion for the hemp plant’s ability to regenerate the Earth and the human body.
We are proud to announce that we now offer a true flower-to-bottle supply chain via our South Carolina farm. We have 60,000 square feet of greenhouse there where we grow our hemp seedlings and we also extract, process and bottle there.

Walking through our farmers’ fields, watching the hemp flowers being processed into hemp CBD oil and seeing our team pack our products reminds me of why I started selling hemp products 20 years ago…I knew then and I know now more than ever that the hemp plant has amazing potential to be some of the best plant medicine on the planet. It can regenerate the Earth and the human body in a way that’s truly remarkable.
